MY LETTER TO THE LORD
by Mary Bonnstetter
I thank You God, for the beautiful
tree
and the wonderful shade that it gives to me;
Thank You for the sunrise in the morn
and the sounds of a goose squaking his horn.
The sunset signals when day is done,
The moon heralds brightly
That night has begun.
Yes, You give me
such wonders to see,
Thank You for taking such good care of me!
I thank You for being there all through my life,
As You know, Lord,
It was filled with such strife.
But You held me up when I was worn out,
You gave strength and hope, I did not doubt.
You gave me three sons to love and to hold
and wonderful daughters-in law to even our fold.
Yes, You give me such wonders to
see,
Thank You for taking such good care of me!
Blessed with
grandchildren both young and old,
You gave me love again,
Precious ones I
can hold.
I thank You for the beauty I see all around;
The trees, the birds, and even the pond.
But of all the gifts You gave for my sake,
My family is the frosting You put on the cake.
Yes, You
give me such wonders to see,
Thank You for taking such good care of me!
So even as I grow old I can always see,
That You have never, never forgotten me.
I feel that You're here with me every day,
I know no matter what, You are not far away.
My strength and my light,
How I wish everyone could see,
That You are the one Who carries me!
