"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words
will never pass away."  Mark 13:
31

The Bible was given as evidence of God's everlasting love for us and with His Word there is a direct connection with Him.  Without His inspiring love and strong admonishments, we would not have that ultimate bond to our Creator.  When we read this sacred book it puts us into an intimacy and a closeness with the Lord.  We, as Christian Catholics, talk about being close to God, but how often do we sit down, open the Bible to read His message to us?  To have Him "speak" and encourage us to stay on His path even as the world changes?

His word tells of the past, the present and the future and is God's way of communication.  We find solace to ease our worries and struggles, find timely answers that "hit home" for all of life's situations, and it tells each of us to depend on Him for all things.  As we read the Bible, we will feel His presence through the Holy Spirit, and this gives us a bond that surpasses all human understanding.  Everything is there to give perception that we could not have known if God had not divinely revealed this to us through His Word.  Books of the Old and New Testament Scriptures reveals God's authority over a period of approximately 2,000 years. Hebrews 4:12 reads, "...the word of God is alive and powerful.  It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."

Today, the world is rapidly changing.  What used to be what the Lord taught through scripture, is now thought of as outdated by some, and they close their eyes to what God asked and warned us about.  In order to go their own way, they pronounce what God teaches is "no longer valid".  God's truth is tossed to the side as old and unnecessary, therefore saying certain parts of God's Biblical word cannot work in modern society today.   "Some biblical parts" do not fit us in this era, they say, and then they choose their own way of life.

Skeptics ask,  "What evidence is there that God wrote this book?  What is so special and unique about it?  Is it true that the validity of the Bible is divinely inspired and totally sufficient for all matters of faith and practice?  What about the now as people clamor for different lifestyles?  So how can we maintain our Christian values?   The answer is through prayer, asking the Lord to see beyond the public outcry and restore us to the joy of our salvation, where we clutch His word to ourselves and abide by it.  What God wants us to do is keep reading His Word and hold those words close, shutting out the wiles of Satan. One day our adversary will be convicted to eternal life in the depths of Hell with no ending for all eternity.

Be ever patient during this wait for God to take us to His home filled with eternal joy.  This earth is NOT our home.  It is just a way station.  Remember that Satan is getting frantic and is working extra hard to gain all our souls.  If we slip and fall from God's grace and His path for us, through prayer God  will give us strength and will help us to get back up and on track.  His mighty Hand will hold us close until our strength and our love for Him will once more grow strong and the world's changes will become weak in the face of God's plan for us.  Keep asking God to renew us and take away all that hampers us from freely serving Him.  God will supply all the strength that we need.

There can be no doubt that the Bible is authentic. This is clearly seen in Paul’s commendation to Timothy:“… and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,17 so that the servant of God [ a]may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."- (2Timothy 3:15-17)Consider the confirmation of over2,000 accurately fulfilled predictions in the Bible, including some 300 specific details and implications about the life, death, and the resurrection of Christ.  For example, Isaiah 53 describes the life of Christ 700 years before it took place!  Micah 5:2, in the Old Testament foretold the birth of Jesus: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrata, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times” .  And so, there are no prophetic failures.  NONE!   Those who doubted have not been able to dispute the evidence of history written long in advance of actual happenings.

Marcellino D’Ambrosio writes, "The Bible is a privileged place where we encounter God and where He speaks a living, personal, life-changing Word to us.  For in the sacred books, the Father Who is in heaven meets His children with great love and speaks with them. Christianity is ultimately not a philosophy but a relationship.  And Bible reading for the Christian must always be in the service of deepening this relationship." -  Marcellino D’Ambrosio is a theologian and popular speaker.

Know always that we can depend on God for all things.  Time and mankind may try but can never change God's Truth for it is unchangeable.  Read and meet Him on every page of the Holy Bible, knowing we are in His Divine Presence.   We are being touched and truly cherished by an Eternal Father Who wants each one of us to live forever with Him.

One day the Book of Life will be opened and we will be judged according to our works.  The earthly tinsel of temptation will be over when, through faith and obedience , we will sit at the feet of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ in joy forever more.  Thanks be to God!

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ,
so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things
done while in the body, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:10
