THE
DAY GOD'S SON CAME TO EARTH
"For
the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."
Luke 19:10
Galatians 4:4
"tells us, "When the time had fully come, God
sent forth His Son" Who voluntarily came to earth in obedience
to His Father’s will. Jesus, our Lord,
had come from purity into a world of sinful humanity but
He came with a mission of hope
for a dying world.
He came
because God loves each of us so much He sent His only begotten Son
to bring an message of choice through faith; either spending
eternity with our Heavenly Father or spending life forever in hell. As
Jesus grew from
babyhood He would, one day give each of us the option to "follow" Him or turn away and continue
living in sin. He says in John 6:38: “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own
will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”
He
came to save the lost souls and call them to repentance.
In time,
Jesus would lay down His life to pay for mankind's salvation. Through FREE WILL that God gave to
each of us, we could either accept
the teachings of Jesus Christ or turn our heads and walk away
on the path to everlasting destruction.
Imagine God watching Jesus growing to manhood on earth,
mindful of what His precious Son would do for the salvation of
mankind. Many would not listen
to His guidance, rejecting Him, turning away from what He
taught, spending their lives in sin and trepidation. But those who
sat at His feet and accepted Him, found their faith growing
strong as they listened to His Word. Others laughed and threw stones in
defiance.
Think
about Jesus Christ Who
left God's kingdom, coming down to "shake" the world with
heavenly truths, gathering souls who believed and accepted His
teachings, His words
of wisdom, knowing they were receiving the precious gift of Salvation. He
had come from light into the darkness of sinfulness and Satan's evil yet giving hope
to the hopeless. And as the months sailed by and turned into years, Jesus gave
us the final sacrifice
by paying with His blood on the cross at Calvary for all the sins of
repentant
souls. John 6:38: “For I have come down from heaven, not to
do My own will, but the will of Him Who sent Me.”
Almighty God
chose to send Jesus Christ to lay in a manger, a place where
the cattle lived. For our Salvation! One day, our Lord
would show all who listened, the way to everlasting life with no
more pain, no more suffering, no more dying. He carried His
Father's Divine promises to mankind, and when our Lord Jesus was
nailed to a cross as a common troublemaker, the price was paid in
full.
Despite the jeers and hateful name calling, He died on that cross
and paid the price of everlasting redemption for mankind.
The
promises of Jesus and
His teaching remains clear within the hearts of all believers.
Even now, over 2,000 years later, Jesus still stands with open arms, waiting for
all sinners to take the
gift He has already paid for. He
holds everlasting life within His Hands, patiently lingering for all to
come and accept the eternal life He offers.
Today,
many Christians have strayed far away from God's truth. Some say
the Bible does not mean its verses literally, that it just doesn't
suit our lifestyles or needs; some saying it is too "old fashioned" for today's
world. But as
Christians, we must remember that God has given His Judgment
starting
with the Book of Genesis, and ending in the Book of Revelation.
It is most important to remind ourselves that God loves us
but hates disobedience to His Word as it is
a rejection of His Precious Love.
We, as Christians,
must adhere firmly to His
Word knowing
He wants us
to obey and follow the teachings He has written for all
mankind.
One
day,
when Jesus Christ comes back, we will find Him standing before us in
judgment.
Like the stewards in the
Gospel who gave an accounting of his stewardship, we must give
an accounting to God. The final scrutiny will center around our
faith and our love — both of God and Jesus Christ. Jesus is our
earthly model for both. He has also left us a graphic description of
the Last Judgment in Matthew (25:31-33).
“When
the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He
will sit on His glorious throne.
All the nations will be gathered before
Him, and He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd
separates the sheep from the goats.
He
will put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left.
Matthew 25:41 also
reads, "Then He will say to those on His left,
‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared
for the devil and his angels. Again in Matthew 25:46,
“Then they will go away to eternal
punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
If we accept through
faith our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we do not have to worry
where we will be going after earthly life. We will know that our
Heavenly Father and our Savior will stand waiting for
us in front of the Golden Gates of Eternity. We will be taken
within the arms of God and welcomed into His kingdom. He loves us
that much. Are we worthy? No, we are not, but with the acceptance of Jesus in our hearts, our names
have been written into the Book of life. Yes, there were
some who turned away in disbelief and followed their own path to
destruction. But in
John 12:46 Jesus tells us, "I have come as Light into the world,
so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness."
But as long as there is life within us, we can still change,
and our destination will be eternal life.
1John12:46-47 reads: "I
have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in
Me should stay in darkness. As for the person who hears my words but
does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge
the world, but to save it."
As
Jesus returned back to
Heaven, He promised that the Holy Spirit would live within us, showing us
the way we must live, nudging us away from sin.
Hebrews1:3 tells us, "
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of
His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had
provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the
Majesty in heaven."
Although
Jesus came over two thousand years ago as that precious little baby
Who became our Savior, He is still calling out to us, knocking on
the doors of our hearts, inviting us to eternal life, to live with
Him forever and ever. Even today, He still stands waiting to
forgive; waiting to welcome all who believe, into His Father's
Kingdom.
MOVE forward in faith, knowing one
day Jesus Christ will take us home.
HAPPY
BIRTHDAY, LORD JESUS!
PRINCE OF PEACE
LORD OF LORDS
KING OF KINGS
"I have not
come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
