NARROW
IS THE ROAD
TO HEAVEN
Kathy Bernard - Publisher
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is
the road
that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
- Matthew 7:13
Many
times God
speaks to us but we do not listen. Even though God is a God of mercy and
love, some of us will turn away and seek the wide road of earthly
things because we may think God's narrow path is too difficult
to tread. Some do not consider that the wide and easy road
leads to hell. However, as Christians, know that our Savior Jesus
Christ promises to take our hand and walk with us through that
dark
and narrow path which leads to eternity.
Many try
to futilely find life's true meaning in all the wrong places by
following others through the wide path which Satan has filled with
endless sinful temptation for he wants to gain our souls.
We have only two roads that we must choose from; the wide which leads
to Hell and destruction, or the narrow leading to Heaven. Luke
13:22-30 reads:
"..And Jesus went
through the cities and villages, teaching and journeying toward
Jerusalem. Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are
saved?” And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the
narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not
be able."
Jesus explicitly
speaks of two destinies for us. Choosing the wide road for
human satisfaction that God says "No!" to will lead to eternal
Hell. And there is the narrow path leading to eternal joy where we
will live in glory with God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. As
Christian Catholics, the latter must be our choice.
Have
you come to a crossroad in your life and you cannot decide
which road to take? If
you believe in Jesus Christ, our
Savior, you must decide your path: the wide which
offers the gifts of sin and disobedience to God or the narrow,
seemingly endless road. Sometimes it may be difficult to walk the
path God has for us but
Jesus tells us it is the only way we can live forever, secure in the
arms of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, Who beckons us to follow Him
to endless Glory. This must be our decision.
Sometimes
we see others showing
their successes, their wealth and all Satan has to offer, and
it makes us wonder why we always seem to get "the short end of the
stick". Their successful lives and seemingly happy families make us
feel "left out" and unworthy of "good things they are enjoying".
And though we strongly believe in God, our humanity whispers we have
no real value and our lives becomes hard to bear. We become so
obsessed with watching the good fortune of others that we fail to
see the blessings that the Lord has already bestowed to
us.
If you have taken God's hand to let him guide you through His
Divine Path, don't allow worries, setbacks, human mistakes, failure,
and
disappointment tear you down and turn you in the
other direction. Be firm, knowing that this path defines who you are, and where
you are headed. Remember always that God’s only provision
for our salvation and entrance to the kingdom is through faith in
Jesus Christ as our Messiah and Savior Who paid for all our sins.
No matter what you are going through at this time, believe that God
loves you and has great plans for your eternal future. Be steady in
your choices, hold tight to the reigns that God has set for you.
You are a child of the Most High and this qualifies that all who
believe in God are
special to Him. He will always remain true to His
promises.
As believers, know that the road
He designed for us is leading us home to eternal life.
One day, we
will be able to see Almighty God our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ,
the Lord of Lords
Who paid the price for all believers. They will be standing
before us in all their magnificent glory, waiting to take
us
home where we will live forever in their Kingdom.
No more suffering and no more dying. AMEN!!
You make known
to me the path of life;
You will fill me
with joy in your
presence, with eternal pleasures at
Your Right Hand. -
Psalm 16:11
